Big Blue Button – Install

When installing BBB, Big Blue Button in 0.8-beta you may find problems with some dependencies, specially Freeswitch.

An error such as this may be found:

Unpacking bbb-freeswitch (from …/bbb-freeswitch_1.0.7-ubuntu41_amd64.deb) …
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/bbb-freeswitch_1.0.7-ubuntu41_amd64.deb (–unpack):
trying to overwrite ‘/opt/freeswitch/sounds/music/16000/danza-espanola-op-37-h-142-xii-arabesca.wav’, which is also in package freeswitch-sounds-music-16000 0:1.0.8-0ubuntu5
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Processing triggers for ureadahead …
Errors were encountered while processing:

To fix this just do dpkg –remove freeswitch-sounds-music-16000 This is already included in the bbb-freeswitch package that is used by BBB to be installed on 0.8b. You may have to do this for several of the packages. Try to list all packages dpkg –list | grep freeswitch and remove all dependencies manually.
You may choose to use a sources.list file that looks like mine and just add

For BBB 0.8beta
Do your stanndard
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
and if you run into problems because “unmet” dependencies, try an
apt-get clean
apt-get update
And may require an apt-get -f install if requested.
