Dr. Hernandez Reaches Settlement Agreement with Cisco Systems, Dish Networks

As a co-founder of Mobility Workx, LLC is glad to share that  we reached a settlement agreement that successfully licensed Edwin’s patents—U.S. Patent Nos. 7,231,330, 8,213,417, and 7,697,508—to industry giants Cisco Systems and DISH Wireless. This landmark agreement resolves ongoing litigation filed in the Eastern District of Texas, marking a significant milestone in the commercialization of his groundbreaking technologies.

The licensed patents are pivotal in the field of mobile communications, specifically addressing mobility emulation, device certification, and handover mechanisms for 4G and 5G networks. These technologies enable seamless connectivity, robust device performance, and efficient network transitions, which are critical for modern wireless infrastructure.

  • U.S. Patent No. 7,231,330: Focuses on methods for emulating mobility in wireless networks, allowing for realistic testing and optimization of mobile devices under various network conditions.

  • U.S. Patent No. 8,213,417: Covers techniques for device certification, ensuring that mobile devices meet stringent performance and interoperability standards required for 4G and 5G ecosystems.

  • U.S. Patent No. 7,697,508: Details systems for efficient handover between network cells, a cornerstone for uninterrupted service in high-speed 4G and 5G networks.

Dr. Hernandez expressed his satisfaction with the agreements, stating, “Licensing these patents to Cisco Systems and DISH Wireless validates the importance of our innovations in advancing global telecommunications.
