Engineeringwise, I made some progress, today I got news and I was nomitated for TPC .. Technical Programm Committe for a new conference, IEEE Wireless Pervasive Computing 2006 . I have a few papers assigned to review for IEEW WLN 2005..Weekend time!.
BTW, I submitted two papers one to the IEEE CCNC2006 and one more to IEEE LCN – Wireless & Performance (Abbrv name). I am also coding some Matlab simulations on …. CENSORED … haha, ask me if you want to know what it is. I can’t post the papers I submitted here yet, but I will in the future.
What a buncho of BS, what’s wrong with this goverment? All of us, HOMEOWNERS, are now worried about investing in real estate, not even HOMESTEAD will save your home. On a different note, I heard something on 90.3 MHz about music, they argue that somehow, music helps define the state of mind and indeed, there are certain patterns of songs that lead our minds to different states. Therefore, certain music is an absolute and certain music must be avoided because it goes against Christian faith. I diagree with this view, music is an absolute, it’s evident that culture is definitely a huge factor determining if a song sounds appropriate or not.
Whenever I sing a christian song using what in my culture I am familiar with. As an example, “Deutschland Deutschland Uber Alles” became the symbol of the Nazi germany… a solemn song that now represents death and antisemitism…. I understand that certain songs match certain pattern behaviours, but there is not a black and white thing. Our audible spectrum is about 20 KHz, if create all possible combinatios of all possible audible tones with the same duration, we would have 20 000! (factorial) combinations with could be combined again with all possible durations of each note… there are hence, millions of combinations and sounds that humans can still create. I don’t see any space for absolutes, we have barely created music….
