Rainy Day

It’s been rainy all weekend. Friday, I missed a Gypsy Kings concert in Boca Raton which I thought it was going to be cancelled but it was not. Despite of the weather, Me and my friends went out to “Las Olas” Blvd, a place here in Ft. Lauderdale. While there, it didn’t rain….;-) We walked around the area and stopped for some drinks at “Cafe Europa.” As soon as We left the downtown area, at around 12:30pm it started raining again.

Today, I spent most of the day fixing an HP Pavilion laptop with a damaged power Jack. What a pain!!! 42 screws, and lots of parts to remove just to get to the power connector area. Since, I don’t have surface mount equipment, I had to rely on my old Weller soldering iron to get the job done. I could not find the perfect replacement jack for the laptop and I had to get a Size “N” DC Power Jack from Radio Shack (about $3) and solder the jumpers where I thought the 19.6 V power had to feed the laptop’s motherboard.. Voila the Laptop came back to life. BTW, I don’t know why people at Radio Shack in Coral Springs, has such an attitude problem.

In the afternoon, I went to get the laptop back to the owner, just to find out that the laptop’s owner is having some family problems, If you read this include him in your prayers. On a different good note, I also visited my indian friend’s new Kwik Stop store. He’s doing great but he seems to be busy most of the time. As far as I can tell, I see he does not own a job, he owns a business!

Let’s see if tonight I get my hands on some Matlab and finish some projects I have not completed.
